Minutes before I turn 26, my thoughts turn to the past and inevitably, the future. As a Gemini, I’ve always been impulsive yet I like planning things right down to the last detail as well. The duality of my nature also makes me welcome and fear the future. Every passing year is another 365-day journey around the sun, and I would like to think that I have made the trip worthwhile not only for me but for those around me as well.

I recently wrote an essay answering the question: Who Am I? Here are my thoughts on this age-old question.

Mabuhay from the Philippines!

This is Jocie, your resident gimikera, and I’m here to share my expeditions in this journey called life.

As a 26-year-old Filipina living in this Asian archipelago, I’ve developed a passion for photography and traveling–two interests that have served me well as a blogger over the past year.

My blog, Gimikera Is In, is designed mainly to showcase the places that I’ve visited, sprinkled with entries that chronicle my own emotional journey through life.

I’ve had my share of quarter-life crisis incidents as well as moments of clarity (including this one), often written during the wee hours of the morning.

I’ve been ranked in the past as a Marauding Marsupial in the Truth Laid Bear ecosystem while Gimikera Is In was among the top results of Google and Yahoo! at the time when my full concentration was in blogging. I’ve mellowed down since then but the desire to be in the top sites in the blogosphere still burns in my heart.

My advice to fellow bloggers: Find your niche and stay in it!
