Your resident gimikera is here to share her expeditions in this journey called life.
We have a new member in our family — little baby Blogger, a puppy who is just a few days old. Ma got him from a neighbor of ours and he is at home exploring his new surroundings. I was surprised to hear whimperings last night and then he emerged from under a chair and I was immediately smitten by this cute little puppy.
He is so tiny and he has the funniest bark. He likes licking my feet and squeezing under the furniture. Can’t wait to play with him again tonight.
Ever since I discovered the wonders of electronic mail or email, I’ve been collecting a myriad of accounts from different email providers — pinoymail, edsamail, yahoo, hotmail, mailcity, excite, buddymail, and most recently, gmail.
I remember that my first account was with pinoymail, which I can’t access anymore. Edsamail was quite popular then and even though you had to install a CD for you to use it, I was quite hooked on it. My edsamail account was my primary email for some time since downloading messages was free and you didn’t have to connect to the Internet to retrive your messages. However, the later versions of edsamail had to be paid for in advance at P1 per day (P365 per year) so you can continue using it. It was a hassle to go all the way to Ortigas and pay for my account but still I renewed my account although I’m thinking of letting it go especially with the emergence of (free!) email providers with very large storage capacities.
The newest of which is Gmail, a Google-owned, search-based service that provides over 2 gigabytes of storage, but you need to receive an invite from a current user before you can have one of your own. I got a gmail invite from an orgmate of mine so now I can invite 50 more people to create a gmail of their own.
Even though using Gmail is very enticing, I still stick with my primary yahoo account because of the many features offered by Yahoo such as its photos, groups, and even messenger. To date, I maintain around eight accounts in yahoo alone and several others in the abovementioned account providers.
I guess my next collection will be blogs (I maintain three personal blogs apart from the blogs that I have to update for my office) but that, my friend, is a different post altogether. =)
